Silence of the Lambs fans will recognize the Layton, PA home that Buffalo Bill called his own in the movie, but that doesn’t mean they’d want to buy it.
The couple who own the house is struggling to sell it and recently dropped the asking price from $300,000 to $250,000.
The three-story Victorian, located an hour south of Pittsburgh, has been attracting lots of lookie loos but no offers.
“Even though it’s got notoriety, location still is a big deal,” said Erik Gunther, a senior editor and expert on unique homes for Realtor.com. “The fact that a home gets a ton of publicity doesn’t necessarily add up to a quick sale,” Gunther said. “Just because I want to gawk at something doesn’t mean I want to buy it.”
The home’s entrance and dining room were featured in the movie, but the dungeon in the basement was filmed a soundstage (luckily).
