The cast of Star Wars: Episode VIII has been teasing fans with tweets and photos from the U.K., where production on the new film is expected to begin any day now.
And, as we all know, the Star Wars films have used some of the world’s most stunning locations for its background, so we wouldn’t expect any less from Episode VIII.
Like The Force Awakens, the movie’s home base will be Pinewood Studios in the UK, but there’s already rumors that the movie might shoot in Croatia, among other locations around the globe. Several sites are reporting the movie will shoot in Dubrovnik, Croatia later this year due in part to the tax breaks the city offers to film productions.
Filming for Episode VIII has already taken place on Skellig Michael in Ireland, where Episode VII leaves off.
But, Episode IX could have the most spectacular location of all – space! Director Colin Trevorrow told a crowd at Sundance last week that he wants to shoot footage for the movie in outer space.
