On May 20 -22 Chicago will celebrate the 30th anniversary of John Hughes’ 80s classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off with the first ever Ferris Fest.
The movie, which starred Matthew Broderick, followed a creative high school student, his girlfriend and his best friend as they skip school and end up on a whirlwind tour of Chicago that included the Art Institute of Chicago, Wrigley Field, Willis Tower and other famous Chicago locations.
All of these locations will be a part of a two-part bus tour of Ferris Bueller filming locations that will take place during the festival. Other activities on the roster are a screening of the movie at the John and Nancy Hughes Theater in Lake Forest, IL hosted by Richard Roeper, a re-creation of the film’s “Twist and Shout” parade scene, a replica of Ferris’ bedroom, and more.
Full three-day festival ticket prices range form $11 for a tour of Ferris’ room to $300 for the full weekend. Tickets can be purchased now at Eventbrite.com.
