The story of the author behind one of the books we all read in high school – The Catcher In The Rye – is headed to the big screen.
Rebel In The Rye, based on biography by Kenneth Slawenski, will “explore the life and mind of J.D. Salinger and tell the story of the birth of The Catcher in the Rye. The story will explore his rebellious youth, his experiences on the bloody front lines of World War II, enduring great love and terrible loss, a life of rejection to the pages of the New Yorker and his writer’s block — which led to a spiritual awakening.”
Nicholas Hoult stars as Salinger, along with Kevin Spacey who plays his mentor Whit Burnett and Sarah Paulson, who will portray Salinger’s literary agent Dorothy Olding.
This week, Spacey and Hoult were spotted in period costumes on the set in Brooklyn. Tonight, the movie is filming at W 155th St and Amsterdam Ave, NYC.
