The Little River Grill on Lake Allatoona in Canton, GA is under new ownership, but don’t expect to get dinner there anytime soon. The property, which was also known as Mambo on the Lake, has been acquired by Netflix for an upcoming series that will be directed by, produced by and star Jason Bateman.
“Ozark” is a departure for Bateman, who is best known for his comedic roles. The series takes place in “the dark and dangerous world of drug-money laundering.” It’s name is derived from location where it is set, The Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.
Bateman was among the producers who scouted the restaurant, located at 6979 Bells Ferry Rd Canton, GA, and helped to choose the location. Construction is underway at the former Little River Grill, with filming expected to begin in August.
