Last month we broke the news that The Dark Tower would be filming in NYC this summer, and now we’ve confirmed that shoot is taking place this weekend.

The movie is based on the Stephen King book series – a mix of fantasy, science fiction and horror that follows Roland the last Gunslinger, who “is traveling southeast across Mid-World’s post-apocalyptic landscape, searching for the powerful but elusive magical edifice known as The Dark Tower.” Idris Elba is playing Roland in the movie while Matthew McConaughey will play his nemesis, the mysterious Man in Black.

Here’s where the movie will be filming this week:

Thursday, 6/30: 27th St and Madison Ave, NYC

Thursday 6/30 – Friday, July 1: Walker St, NYC

Friday, 7/1 White St and Broadway, NYC

Saturday, July 2: 26th St and 3rd Ave, NYC

The Dark Tower has been filming in South Africa for the last few weeks but, as the next leg of filming is about to begin in NYC, at least one of the movie’s stars has been spotted flying back to the United States.

A huge thank you to ALL of our tipsters who helped us track the movie down! Be on the lookout for the signs of filming and be sure to let us know if you have scoop at olv@onlocationvacations.com!
