For the first time it looks like our friends on The Walking Dead might be making their way to the coast.
According to Patch, Stalwart Films, the show’s production company, has been issued permits to film on Driftwood Beach in Jekyll Island, GA. There has been no confirmation the shoot is for TWD, as Stalwart also produces Turn and Halt and Catch Fire, two other Georgia-shot series, as well as Fear The Walking Dead. But, based on the scene description provided by Stalwart, most local media outlets are jumping to the conclusion the shoot is indeed for The Walking Dead.
The Georgia Department of Natural Resources Coastal Resources Division has given permission for Stalwart Films to film on the beach and nearby marshland. One scene reportedly involves four cast members on a beach with “a human corpse half buried in a small tidal pool.”
“Further down the beach, another person is washed ashore alive and carried to a drier section of the beach. After being revived, the survivor slips away from the rescuers while they are distracted and is seen moving inland past the wrack line,” the request stated.
There will also be a scene filmed on Riverview Drive that includes an actor walking through a marsh.
Right now, The Walking Dead continues to film in and around their home base of Senoia, GA. Though The Patch didn’t provide a date for the beach shoot, we’ve heard it would take place around the 14th.
