A new movie starring Chris Hemsworth and Michael Shannon is set to begin filming in New Mexico, and the production is looking for extras.

Horse Soldiers, based on Doug Stanton’s book, tells the true story of a U.S. Special Forces team who are sent to a rugged, mountainous region of Afghanistan just after 9/11.

Most of the filming will take place at White Sands National Monument. Located near Alamogordo NM, this unique location, made up of beautiful gypsum dunes that stretch as far as the eye can see, has also been used in Transformers, Jarheads, and Men Who Stare at Goats, among other films.

The casting call is looking for men 18 years old and older, particularly Hispanic, Native American and Middle Eastern men. The casting company is also interested in “men who consider themselves expert horse riders,” according to a casting notice from Sande Alessi Casting.

Applicants can email a photo of themselves to horsesoldierscasting@gmail.com, with “Alamogordo” in the email’s subject line.
