This weekend two highly anticipated films will be shooting a few additional scenes in Los Angeles, even though neither was shot there originally.
First, The Dark Tower, which was primarily filmed in South Africa, will be filming at 740 S. Broadway and at S Broadway and W 7th St in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 4 from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
The movie is based on the Stephen King book series – a mix of fantasy, science fiction and horror that follows Roland the last Gunslinger, who “is traveling southeast across Mid-World’s post-apocalyptic landscape, searching for the powerful but elusive magical edifice known as The Dark Tower.” Idris Elba is playing Roland in the movie while Matthew McConaughey will play his nemesis, the mysterious Man in Black.
On Sunday, Ocean’s Eight, the latest in the Ocean’s film series starring Sandra Bullock, Rihanna, Sarah Paulson, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, and Mindy Kaling, will also be filming in downtown Los Angeles. The movie just wrapped a three month shoot in New York City in February.
Here’s where Ocean’s Eight will be filming in L.A.: Spring St, 2nd St – 101 Fwy in Los Angeles on March 5 from 3:00 AM to 10:00 PM and at 200 N Spring St, Los Angeles from 3:00 AM to 10:00 PM (March 6).
