Back in January it was confirmed Avengers: Infinity War would be filmed in Edinburgh, Glasgow and the Highlands. With that shoot about to get underway, there are new details about where exactly the movie will be filming.
Film crews are expected to start preparing for filming on Tuesday in Edinburgh’s Old Town with Cockburn Street closed to vehicles overnight.
Filming at the location will begin overnight on Wednesday, March 22 to March 23 and also take place there on April 19, April 20 and April 21.
A manned pedestrian closure will also be in place on the Royal Mile between Roxburgh’s Close and Old Fishmarket Close on March 30 to April 2, April 4-6 and April 21.
Locals have also been warned there will be “small explosions” taking place on April 2 and April 6.
Marvel will also use Wardpark Studios in Cumbernauld, Outlander’s studio, for additional filming.
Infinity War will be the largest movie ever made in Scotland, according to Scottish Labour culture spokesperson Lewis MacDonald, who added, “the fact such a successful franchise will be filmed in Scotland will excite the fans but also provide a welcome boost to the economy.”
Avengers: Infinity War is set to hit theaters on May 4, 2018.
