‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ is finally headed to Broadway

Finally, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is officially headed to Broadway.

The two-part play opened at London’s Palace Theatre to sold out crowds last summer and eventually collected a record nine Olivier Awards.

Now, producers have announced that Cursed Child will make its Broadway debut in the Lyric Theatre on April 22, 2018.

Several months ago it was announced the Lyric Theatre would be renovated to meet the specifications of the show. It is still unknown if the British cast will cross the pond to star in the American version, or if new actors will take on the roles.

The Cursed Child picks up 19 years after the conclusion of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The play follows an adult Harry Potter who works at the Ministry of Magic and is struggling to connect with his young son Albus.

Tickets for Cursed Child’s Broadway run go on sale this fall.
