‘American Horror Story’ season seven filming in Los Angeles

Filming on the highly anticipated seventh season of American Horror Story is underway in Los Angeles.

Yesterday, creator Ryan Murphy shared an image of Billie Lourd, who is set to star in the seventh installment of the anthology series, with silver hair. He captioned the photo, “Winter is coming. Can’t wait for everybody to see what the incredible Billie Lourd does this season on AHS.” Lourd starred in another one of Murphy’s series, Scream Queens, as Chanel #3 (arguably, the best character on that series). FOX announced it was canceling the show earlier this year.

There are still few details about what the new season’s them might be, though, back in February, Murphy did tell Andy Cohen, [the season] “is going to be about the election that we just went through.”

In January, the show was renewed for two more seasons by FX. At the time, CEO John Landgraf said audiences wouldn’t know anything about season 7 until it premieres later this year. “It actually will be shrouded in super secrecy,” he said. “Ryan has yet another really innovative idea for how to do something fresh and different with the franchise that audiences haven’t seen before, and there’s a marketing promotional hook around that.”

We did hear from one of our L.A. tipsters that AHS is filming a scene set in present Michigan today at FOX studios. The setting makes sense if Murphy is focusing on an election themed season since Michigan was a frequent stop for the presidential candidates in 2016.
