Season 2 of “13 Reasons Why” has started filming in California

Netflix’s hit show “13 Reasons Why” has started production earlier in June and is currently filming in different locations in California.

Christian Navarro, who plays Tony in the show, has tweeted to mark the beginning of Season 2’s filming:

Signs for “13 R Y” have been spotted in San Rafael 10 days ago for “Clay’s House”:

Also, as we mentioned previously, the show is due to be filmed in Marin, Vallejo and other parts of the Bay Area. According to Screen Rant, it is expected a 6-8 month shoot, with the new season being released on Netflix in 2018.

“13 Reasons Why” is based on the novel by Jay Asher and it follows the story of Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) and the reasons that led her to commit suicide. All episodes take place after her death, so the viewers get to know what happened through cassette tapes and many flashbacks.  The show’s first season was very controversial, especially for showing explicitly the scene of Hannah’s  suicide.

Even though there is no second book to guide the next season, a renewal was bound to happen after the show’s huge popularity. So the question is: how will the story continue? It has been reported that season 2 will have a different narrator (as opposed to Hannah on season 1) and will focus on the other characters’ perspectives of the events shown in the first 13 episodes.

It also remains to be seem if Bryce (Justin Prentice) will face charges for raping Hannah and Jessica (Alisha Boe), as well as the fates of all other major characters, including the law suit Hannah’s parents filed against the school.
