‘A Quiet Place 2’ filming underway in Western New York

This week, John Krasinski is wrapping up his second week of filming on the sequel to his hit movie, A Quiet Place.

The movie, which Krasinski co-wrote and directed, brought in more than 340 million dollars at the box office in 2018 so, it was no surprise he was quickly tapped to write a sequel.

A Quiet Place 2 has been filming in the small town of Akron, NY since July 15. The production has shut down the town’s main drag, giving it a post-apocalyptic makeover. Photos show several storefronts have been changed and many seem dated, like the facade of a Radio Shack. Filming continues in Akron through July 25.

“We’re doing a bit of an action sequence, which is going to be happening in town. And we’ll be doing some car work. I really can’t speak too much. I don’t want to give too much away,” said first assistant director David Venghaus of the shoot.

Prior to filming in Akron, A Quiet Place 2 shot scenes in Olcott Beach, NY, too. Filming is expected to continue in Western New York throughout the summer. If you spot A Quiet Place 2 filming, let us know about it at olv@onlocationvacations.com
