joshishotHere are a few of the first pictures of my beloved Joshua Jackson on the set of Fringe in their new hometown of Vancouver.

Sasha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher have put their wedding on hold so she can film Your Highness in Northern Ireland with Natalie Portman this summer.

Last week, Robert Downey Jr. saved an extra who had accidentally been hit by a stuntman in an iron costume on the L.A. set of Iron Man 2. No one realized it had happened so filming continued.  Sources say, “Robert charged into a live scene yelling, Cut! Cut! The extra was writhing on the ground in agony after a rampaging evil robot smashed him flat”. Downey waited with the man until he was able to get help, what a guy!

Michael Bay told USA Today that he was adamant they film scenes for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen at the pyramids of Giza, not on a sound stage. He told the paper, “I almost put it in my contract that I’m not doing this movie if I don’t shoot in Egypt. I finally got [the studio’s] word: ‘OK, you can shoot there.’ ”

We reported on June 29th that Rabbit Hole, starring Nicole Kidman, was filming at Papazzio Restaurant and Catering in Queens. Here’s how it became the eatery of choice for the film’s lead character.

This article from SF Universe has two tweet of interests. First, Craig Endler tells about a WebUrbanist story that lists the 12 Real-Life Locations Behind Out-of-this-World Films. The list includes Alnwick Castle which was featured in Harry Potter and the Frank Lloyd Wright Ennis House from Blade Runner.

Secondly, the article features a tweet from director Marcos Siega who recently sent out, “Had a blast at dinner with @kevinwilliamson, @julieplec, @KaterinaGraham and the rest of the Vampire Diaries Cast (all non tweeters!)”. It looks the rehearsals for Vampire Diaries are well underway in Atlanta. They should start filming in the couple of weeks. The news series debuts on The CW this fall. (Thanks to Jim and Ella for the tips!)

Finally, here are two locations we missed last week: (If you have tips, let us know! We can’t report it if we don’t know about it!)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows filmed at the UK government’s Department of Energy and Climate Change on June 27th and 28th.

The Last Airbender filmed at Beltzville State Park, PA.
