‘Eclipse’ rumors exaggerated, pick-ups will be filmed in Vancouver

Unless you’ve been in captivity for the past 24 hours you’ve probably already heard the drama over the Eclipse re-shoots that has been circulating the web.

Basically, Lainey Gossip wrote a story yesterday saying that the cast of Eclipse was returning to Vancouver to film re-shoots of fight scenes and a meadow scene adding that the movie’s director, David Slade, may not be working on said re-shoots because Summit is less than impressed with the director and vice versa.

But, before we open the Eclipse thread back up and start booking flights, it looks like Lainey was exaggerating a bit.

The real story is that they will be doing a few pick-up shots in Vancouver that won’t take more than a few days. A pick-up shot is basically filler inserted into scenes for any number of reasons, maybe the lighting was bad or they want to change dialog, its usually something minor. These types of shots are very common. And, Summit has confirmed Slade will be the one overseeing the shots when they happen.

Despite various reports, there is no official word as to which, if any, of the film’s stars will be returning to Vancouver or when the shoot will take place.

As of right now, David Slade is still working on the movie’s score in London and Robert Pattinson is still working on the film Bel Ami so it is unlikely the two of them will be hopping on a plane this weekend. It is however likely that they will be doing the scenes soon (assuming Pattinson is in them) because Rob starts shooting Water For Elephants on May22, not to mention Eclipse is due in theaters on June 30 so they’ll have to get to it.
