According to Us Weekly Magazine, last Monday Ryan Reynolds dislocated his shoulder during the shooting for his new movie “Green Lantern”,  scheduled to be released in 2011.

The movie has been filming in New Orleans since early spring of 2010. Reports are unsure of the extent of Reynolds’s incident, however sources state that “He is in lots of pain. He’s been keeping ice on it.” So far though the incident has not caused any disruptions to filming on the movie.

The “Green Lantern” follows a pilot called Hal Jordan (Ryan) who is given a power ring and battery by a dying alien. The ring turns the ordinary man into Green Lantern – a man who is “utterly honest and born without fear”.

This injury isn’t the first on the set of “Green Lantern”. In March, stuntman Jeff Wolfe also separated his shoulder but was able to participate in “another action sequence 12 hours after they popped [the shoulder] back in.”

The shooting is rough for all those participating, Ryan’s co-star Blake Lively has previously admitted that the shooting of “Green Lantern” is very physical, she said:

“the fights are close and dirty. I’m 40 feet in the air, spiraling around. That’s the best workout you can ever do because it’s all core. You do that for ten minutes and you should see your body the next day! It’s so exhilarating, so thrilling, and nauseating.”
