Authorities in Huron County’s Sheridan Township, about 90 miles north of Detroit, MI, confirmed that a helicopter currently being used in Dreamworks’ Real Steel accidentally clipped a wire during filming.

According to Huron County Sheriff Kelly J. Hanson, “No one was injured in the accident.”  He added, “the helicopter hooked the electrical wire, then seemed to have directional control issues before safely flying away”.

The planned filming using the helicopter was canceled after the incident and was rescheduled for tomorrow (9.23). Real Steel, which has wrapped aside from the helicopter re-shoot,  is a futuristic drama about robot boxing. The film is scheduled for a 2011 release.
