‘Transformers 3’ begins filming in Washington D.C. with a bang

Today was the first day of filming in Washington D.C. for Transformers 3 after wrapping up at the Kennedy Space Center last week.

The movie, which will be filming in and around D.C. through October 15, shot scenes at 17th and D St today, but had to briefly stop production after Bumblebee ran into a Washington D.C. police car.

According to TDB, “It appears a car-slash-character known in the film as Bumblebee struck a D.C. police SUV as they were shooting a scene. The crash does not appear to have been part of Ehren Krueger’s script.”

You can check out a video of the crash above. We also have a couple photos below that were taken by our readers on set this afternoon.

  1. The filming for Tuesday is expected to begin after 6:30 p.m. It is expected to take place on 3rd and 4th streets across the National Mall; on a small section of Pennsylvania Ave. near the White House; and on Maryland Ave., SW.

Filming should be complete by 6:30 a.m. Wednesday and should begin again in the evening.

Film crews did continue filming Monday night at the Air Force Memorial in Arlington, Va.

  2. Does anyone know where they will be filming at tomorrow or any other time this week? I would love to get a picture for my son.
