The filming on Rowan Atkinson’s new movie, the sequel to Johnny English, began on September 11th in Central London, but has now been forced to go on hiatus after the “Mr. Bean” star Rowan Atkinson took ill.
The British actor has been shooting the upcoming comedy “Johnny English Reborn” at the legendary Pinewood Studios as well as on location in London, but production was halted after the star was struck down with an unknown illness.
The film, in which Atkinson revives his gaffe-prone secret agent, co-stars Gillian Anderson, Rosamund Pike and Dominic West. It was scheduled to take 13 weeks to complete, however now it seems uncertain just how long Atkinson will be away from the screen.
This isn’t the first time that Rowan Atkinson has had to postpone a production. Last year, Atkinson had to pull out of the West End version of “Oliver!” for three weeks while he recovered from a hernia operation.
In the new film, he must stop a group of international assassins from killing a world leader. The flick is set for 2011 release.
