Mark Wahlberg is a busy man. Not only did he recently confirm he’ll likely be producing an Entourage movie after the series ends later this year, he’s also set to produce, and possibly star in, the full length feature film The Raven, which is based on the short story.
But, before he gets to either of those projects, he’ll be shooting Contraband in New Orleans this winter. The movie, about a security guard with financial troubles who considers a return to his smuggling ways, also stars Kate Beckinsale, Ben Foster and Giovanni Ribisi.
One of our tipsters sent us a recent update on the film, here’s what they had to say:
They will shoot in New Orleans and make it look like Panama. Mark and Kate will arrive on the 11th and filming starts on the 17th. They will film in the Uptown Garden District, Kenner, and Algiers areas. They will not limit it to just New Orleans.
Though we had heard the movie would begin filming on Jan. 17, we now have a better idea of where (and what) they’ll be shooting while in NOLA. We’ve also heard the shoot is expected to continue through mid-March.
