Last week Kathy Griffin made a cameo appearance on the Los Angeles set of The Muppets and tweeted a few photos from the set. Her co-stars for the day included Scooter, Ricky Gervais and Billy Crystal.
Before heading to set she wrote, “Today = good day. I’m doing a small role in the new muppet movie. Griffin! Gervais! Animal!” and later added, “@RickyGervais, SCOOTER & Griffin. A good man is hard to find, but a good muppet is worth the drive!”
The new Muppet movie, which was stars Jason Segel who also wrote the film, is about Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, who, well on vacation in L.A. with his friends Gary (Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discovers oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) plans to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil. He then plans The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever to raise the $10 million needed to save the theater and helps Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways: Fozzie now performs with a Reno casino tribute band called the Moopets, Miss Piggy is a plus-size fashion editor at Vogue Paris, Animal is in a Santa Barbara clinic for anger management, and Gonzo is a high-powered plumbing magnate.
Tonight, The Muppets will be filming at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. The movie hits theaters on Nov. 23, 2011.
