CinemaCon, which has replaced ShoWest, the largest gathering of movie theatre owners from around the world, will honor Russell Brand as their Comedy Star of the Year.
Mitch Neuhauser, the managing director of CinemaCon 2011, made the announcement today:
Since his hilarious turn as rocker Aldous Snow in 2008’s ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall,’ Brand has been making audiences laugh around the world with his unique character portrayals and unforgettable comedic timing,” noted Neuhauser. “Brand is one of the most entertaining comedians on the big screen today and we could not be more honored to present him with the CinemaCon Comedy Star of the Year Award.
The Official Convention of the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO) will take place between March 28 – 31, 2011 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
The ceremony honoring Russell will be held on March 31.
