‘G.I. Joe 2’ may be shot in Louisiana

According to NOLA.com, the sequel to G.I. Joe may be shot in New Orleans this summer.

Apparently, on Friday, the Louisiana office of film and video reported that G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes, the follow up to 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, would begin a four month shoot in Louisiana in August.

But later the same day they issued a retraction, at the studio’s request, saying no site had been officially selected. It did say however that the studio was “seriously considering” Louisiana.

The first film was shot at various locations around the world including California, Czech Republic, and France.

An official announcement about GI Joe 2 is expected to be made in the next few weeks.
