A few weeks back we reported that the New Mexico set of Odd Thomas had been shut down due to financial troubles, but today there’s word that production will restart tonight.
According to a Facebook post by On Location Casting, who is handling extras for the movie, the producers have said the movie is back on track and there are “no worries” about the financial health of the movie:
Per Producers – As of midnight last night, banks loans & financing have officially closed and the project is now fully financed/funded, bonded and insured. Crew paychecks are available as of 10:00am today, so EMS Payroll should have funds available now to release all Extras paychecks. You can probably call EMS directly to get confirmation of this.
A request has been put in to both SAG and the local IATSE union for clearances for all crew and actors to go back to work.
Production intends to begin filming agaian later TODAY (Thurs. 7/7/11) beginning with night shoots today and tomorrow. We still do not have a revised full shooting schedule so do not yet know what to expect in terms of our extras needs for the remainder of the shoot.
From the Producers – “There are no more worries about the financial health of our movie. We are very aware what you have endured hanging in there with us through the last weeks/months and apologize sincerely for the hardships caused. Let’s finish our magical movie.”
Odd Thomas stars Anton Yelchin, Willem Dafoe, and 50 Cent and will resume filming around Old St. Vincent’s Hospital in Santa Fe, NM later this evening.
