Steve Carell, Meryl Streep, and Tommy Lee Jones will be spend some time in Connecticut this fall to shoot the upcoming movie, Great Hope Springs.
The big budget film is expected to shoot at eight locations in Stonington, including the Old Lighthouse Museum, the Inn at Mystic, a home located at Church and Orchard streets, Water St, and three area restaurants, Skipper’s Dock, Water Street Cafe and Noah’s. They will also filming at the Econo Lodge in Mystic.
Though their schedule has not been confirmed as of yet, Great Hope Springs is expected to shoot in Connecticut between late September and early October.
The movie focuses on a middle-aged couple (Jones and Streep) who attend a weekend of counseling to decide whether or not they want to continue their 30 year marriage. Carell plays their therapist.
The Stonington/Mystic area is no stranger to the big screen. Several films have been shot nearby including the Julia Roberts film Mystic Pizza which made the pizzeria where it was shot a tourist destination.
