After losing director Darren Aronofsky and plans to shoot in Japan were canceled due to the tragic tsunami that hit last spring, it seemed like The Wolverine shoot would never happen.
But, according to the The Vancouver Sun, The Wolverine will finally begin filming in Vancouver in November for a four month shoot.
Filming of the action flick is set to take place Nov. 11 to March 1, 2012 at Canadian Motion Picture Park in Burnaby, where scenes from Twilight, Supernatural and Fantastic Four were filmed.
The movie will likely also spend a couple of months filming at other locations after they wrap in Vancouver. There’s been no mention of Japan, but we wouldn’t be surprised if they did spend some time shooting there as the country is trying to bring back tourists, and what would be a better advertisement for Japanese tourism than a high profile movie filming there.
James Mangold will direct the film and, of course, Hugh Jackman will play Wolverine. Stay tuned for more details as the shoot moves closer!

I think it may be good idea to add couple of scenes from Japan. Its filmmaking spots are highly attractive, the same as Vancouver, both being more attractive than “worn-out” Hollywood. Anyway, it´s great that The Wolverine will be one of those masterpieces filmed in Vancouver. It seems like no bad movie was ever been filmed here!
