Chris Noth begins filming ‘Titanic: Blood and Steel’ in Dublin

Most people think of Chris Noth for his roles in Law and Order and Sex and the City, both series that are closely associated with New York City, but this month he has traveled across the pond for a role in a new mini-series.

Noth recently began filming Titantic: Blood and Steel, which chronicles the story of how the famous ship was made, at Howth Castle in Dublin. In the series he plays banker JP Morgan, who financed the Titanic.

The 12-part drama, directed by Irish pair Ciaran Donnelly and Robert Quinn, ends with the sailing of the Titanic, not the sinking of the famous liner.

The movie, which is set in Belfast and the United States, will also be filmed in Serbia, which will stands in for the Belfast shipyards.

Titanic also stars Neve Campbell, Kevin Zegers and Derek Jacobi.

Along with the Howth Castle location, the movie is scheduled to be shot on Henrietta Street, at the Guinness Factory, on Earlsfort Terrace, at the Palmerstown House, the Botanic Gardens and Clancy Barracks in Dublin.

About the Dublin shoot Noth recently said, “I love it, I love to travel, I spent a lot of time in a lot of shows in New York. I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to come here. I had two beautiful gorgeous days, Ireland is certainly is beautiful in the sunshine. I should say Dublin because I haven’t been outside of Dublin, but rain seems to accommodate the city quite well also.”
