Fort Pike State Historic Site in New Orleans has been closed for movie filming, but the Office of State Parks says it will reopen Jan. 9.
The fort was built shortly after the War of 1812 to defend navigation channels leading into the city of New Orleans. It’s on a 94-acre site off U.S. 90, about 23 miles east of downtown New Orleans.
Though we aren’t sure what project will be shooting at the site over the next couple of weeks, we do know that G.I. Joe: Retaliation spent several weeks filming at the site earlier this fall.
