The Coen Brothers’ ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ and HBO’s ‘The Corrections’ will begin filming in NYC soon

Two new buzzed about projects have surfaced on the NYC Mayor’s Office of Film, Theater and Broadcasting Current Productions List recently, the feature film Inside Llewyn Davis (I.L.D.), and the TV series The Corrections.

Inside Llewyn Davis is the Coen Brothers’ next project about the Greenwich Village folk music scene in the 1960s. The story follows a protagonist loosely based on singer Dave Van Ronk, a friend of Bob Dylan’s.

Oscar Isaac stars as the title character while Justin Timberlake co-stars as another folk musician, his wife will be played by Carey Mulligan, and John Goodman will play a jazz musician who takes a road trip with Davis.

Though we haven’t seen any extras casting calls for the movie yet, we’ve heard that the movie has a tentative start date of February 6, so we should start seeing those tell-tale No Parking Permit signs popping up around NYC soon!

As for The Corrections, it will mark Ewan McGregor’s first TV show and is being produced by Noah Baumbach and Scott Rudin. The new series is based on Jonathan Franzen’s book and revolves around the troubles of an elderly Midwestern couple (who will be played by Chris Cooper and Dianne Weist) and their three adult children as they trace their lives from the mid-20th century to ‘one last Christmas’ together near the turn of the millennium.

The Corrections is expected to begin filming before the end of the month.
