Open Casting Call for Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’ announced in New Orleans

Quentin Tarantino’s new movie Django Unchained, which has been shooting in Mammoth Lakes, CA, Santa Clarita, CA, and Jackson Hole, WY, will be moving to New Orleans for the duration of filming in the coming weeks.

The first Open Casting Call for extras for the New Orleans shoot will take place on Feb. 15. Right now they only seeking African-American Men,Women, & Children, but may be opening up casting for more groups in the future.

Django Unchained, which Tarantino describes as a Spaghetti Western, follows a recently freed slave called Django who assists a German bounty hunter in exchange for help getting revenge on the Plantation owner who has kidnapped his wife.

The movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Samuel L. Jackson, and Jamie Foxx.

  1. I assume that by unnatural hair, you mean coarse hair. I hope Mr. Tarantino knows that African Americans have various natural hair textures, as well as a large range of natural hair colors.
