Will Ferrell is the King of Bacchus at Mardi Gras

Today, Will Ferrell fulfilled his reign as the King of Bacchus during the annual Krewe of Bacchus New Orleans Mardi Gras Parade.

Will called New Orleans “arguably the best city in the world” as he gave the crowd some ‘cowbell.’

The actor has been in NOLA for the past few months filming Dog Fight, which wrapped production on Thursday.

Ferrell considered a visit he made to the city’s Children’s Hospital on Friday “the most special component” of his Bacchus reign. He flung hundreds of doubloons in the crowd of patients, family members and hospital staff and spent time posing with the kids.

Tomorrow, the Mardi Gras celebration continue as Hillary Swank, Harry Connick Jr., and Mariska Hargitay will be among the celebs riding with the Krewe of Orpheus.
