Here is my list of the can’t be missed panels at San Diego Comic-Con 2012, taking place July 12- July 15 at the San Diego Convention Center.

The list is a mix of informative panels for those who want to get into the business (why just be a consumer, when you can be a producer?) , the panels that will probably be the big news of the Con (like Iron Man 3, The Hobbit, and Elysium), and the ones I can’t wait for like Dexter, The Walking Dead, The Vampire Diaries, and Fringe!

Psych returns to Comic-Con for a fourth consecutive year, with a fan-focused event that will invite the audience to be not just viewers, but active participants. Psych-O fans can look forward to a hilarious and uncensored experience with the creative team behind the hottest fake psychic detective agency on TV. 2:45-3:45 Game of Thrones Panel and Q&A Session

Legendary Pictures: Pacific Rim

From acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro comes Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ epic sci-fi action adventure Pacific Rim. When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. Warner Bros. Pictures: Man Of Steel

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey-From Academy Award-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson comes The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, a production of New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM). Jackson returns to Middle-earth in an adventure that begins 60 years before the events depicted in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The first of two films adapted from J.R.R. Magic is coming! Two legends of the entertainment world take to the Comic-Con stage to preview their latest projects. Get a gander at the EPIX Original movie, Roger Corman’s first-ever made in 3D, Attack of the 50 Foot Cheerleader, in which a meek college co-ed is transformed into a gigantic cheerleader. Then take a sneak peek at William Shatner’s Get a Life!, an EPIX original documentary based on Shatner’s hugely popular book, in which he examines the cultural phenomena of Star Trek, its fan-following, and his own role within it. 4:30-5:15 True Blood Panel and Q&A session

Mixing romance, suspense, mystery, and humor, the Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated True Blood kicked off its 12-episode fifth season June 10 on HBO.   1. I tried to get the ComiCon info sitr, but kept getting a 404, narly dude mesg. Tried access through the calendar to no results. I saw Highlander’s Adrian Paul will be at ComiCon the same day as Colin Farrell’s Total-recall. I only know about Adrian Paul’s appearence thru face-book. Total-recall has the backing of a big studio, where Highlander never had a big studio’s backing…the questian, will Adrian Paul really be there? His wife is expecting the birth of their son momentarily…

  2. Geez there are so mnay good panels to go and see. I’d wanna see so many of them like Vampire Diaries, 666 Park Avenue, Fringe, Supernatural, True Blood and Game of Thrones would be my picks. Shame I live in the Uk and won’t be able to attend!
