SDCC 12: The first two minutes of ‘Dexter’ season 7 revealed during panel

On Thursday we attended the Dexter panel and it was well worth the hour we spent in line outside Ballroom 20.

The highlight was the two-minute clip from the upcoming season, THE two minutes everyone has been waiting for in which Dex tries to explain to Deb why he’s standing over a body wrapped in plastic (check it out below).

The panel included Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter, guest star Yvonne Strahovski, showrunner Scott Buck, and producer Wendy West.

It was revealed that Yvonne is playing Hannah McKay, a mysterious woman with a dark past who helps Dexter investigate a murder.

As for Deb, just because she caught Dexter in the act, doesn’t mean she’s totally figured out what’s going on. “She’s taking it one step at a time, one forward, ten back,” Jennifer explained.

There were also a few funny moments between Michael and Jennifer who divorced last year. When Michael was asked if he was like Dexter, he turned to Jennifer and asked, “You want to answer that?”

It was revealed the overall theme of the season will be “What are the consequences of love?”

Michael did acknowledge that, as Harrison gets older and become more perceptive, the situation for Dexter will become more difficult.

Michael also admitted Trinity was his favorite kill adding, “But they’re like his children, I loves them all.”

Check out more photos from the panel below! You can see the panel in its entirety on YouTube too.
