As we reported last week, the Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire spent Thursday and Friday filming at Ringwood State Park in New Jersey, and now we have a few more details about the scenes they were shooting.
“They filmed scenes for the beginning of the movie in Ramapo State Forest,” Steven Gorelick, executive director of the New Jersey Motion Picture & Television Commission, told NorthJersey.com. He also confirmed the movie’s stars, Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth, were there.
“The weather worked perfectly for them,” said Gorelick. “The water froze and there was a little snow, and they got some very good footage.” The cold weather might have been perfect for filming, but it probably wasn’t great for Jennifer who is said to be suffering from pneumonia.
Finally, thanks to one of our readers, Rene, we have a few pictures of the base camp. Unfortunately, security wouldn’t let anyone past the parking lot, but the pics do capture how cold and desolate the park was during filming.
