Another new year is around the corner which means another round of film festivals is about to begin. But before you start packing your bags for Park City, you might want to check out The Kentucky Green Team Film Festival. The festival will take place entirely online so can see each film without worrying about how to offset those pesky carbon emissions.
The film festival is asking young people to submit short films that provide ideas to help improve the environment and reduce energy consumption. There are three categories in the competition, a 30-second PSA encouraging people to reduce their energy consumption, a film no longer than 10 minutes the focuses on energy-saving measures anyone can do, and a film 10 minutes or less about a new device or idea that would reduce energy use. The festival has an impressive roster of judges including Gus Van Sant, Ashley Judd, Florence Henderson, and Nappy Roots. You can submit a film or watch other’s submissions on GTFF’s YouTube channel. And don’t forget to turn off your computer when you are done to keep that green theme going!
