The top 3 most romantic movie filming locations ever

In honor of Valentine’s Day, here’s a look at the most romantic filming locations to ever grace the big screen.

Heathrow Airport

Love Actually was just named the Most Romantic Movie of All Time and few would argue the movie’s most romantic scenes take place in the airport.

The opening scene in which loved ones are hugging and greeting each other in Heathrow Airport is definitely a tearjerker, but our favorite moment is seeing little Sam (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) run through the airport to tell Joanna (Olivia Olson) he loves her, awww!

These days you can’t really wait for loved ones at the arrivals gate but look around the next time your waiting at an airport luggage carousel and you might just catch a few real life romantic reunions.

The Los Palmas Hotel in Los Angeles

A seedy hotel in the middle of Los Angeles might not seem very romantic but, considering it is the location of one of the sweetest moments in movie history, we think it qualifies.

The fire escape of the Las Palmas was made famous after Richard Gere declared his love for Julia Roberts on it in the final moments of Pretty Woman.

Empire State Building

When most people think of a romantic movie filming location, they think of the Empire State Building. This NYC landmark was immortalized in Am Affair To Remember when Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr promised to meet there in six months and again in the final scene of Sleepless in Seattle when Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks finally find each other.

In real life the Empire State Building is anything but romantic. Long lines and mobs of tourists crowding the observation deck make it hard to appreciate your sweetheart, except on Valentine’s Day, the only day of the year when couples can be married there.
