Less than 11 hours after Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell announced a Kickstarter campaign to fund the Veronica Mars movie fans have already raised more than the $2 million necessary to fund the project!
In exchange for their hard-earned money, fans will receive perks like signed posters, set visits, or an outgoing voice mail message from Kristen Bell.
“My mind is blown. I’ve been fantasizing about this taking big and had to tell myself, ‘Stop it, Rob, you’re being silly. You’re setting yourself up for disappointment,’” the Mars creator said. “And now today has exceeded the wildest pipe dream I let myself entertain. Holy cow. We better make a good movie. These amazing fans have stepped up.We better deliver.”
We can’t stop thinking about the possibilities for a new movie! Now that Logan and Veronica are all grown up with they settle down and get married? Will the movie return to all of the show’s famous San Diego filming locations? Will shooting in San Diego in the summer mean a Veronica Mars Comic-Con panel is inevitable? Maybe Veronica will take over Mars Investigations and let Keith take an early retirement? What’s going to happen? We can’t wait to find out!
