As we reported last month, a huge set has been in the works at the Jones Beach West End Field 2, located in Jones Beach State Park in Wantagh, NY, and now it looks like it is just about ready for some screen time.
One of our readers, Laura, told us, “the crew was arriving and huge sound boards, backdrops and lighting that was in place 10 a.m. Sunday. It looked to be physically in place to start filming. West End 2 is a huge double lot and they are using 6/8 of the lot. It was also set up to close the road as needed. Its a good desolate road that was used to film the Royal Pains Florida driving scenes and some of the Hamptons stuff.”
Though we’re 99.9% sure the set is for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the production/directional signs around the set say “4SQ” instead of the usual “HH” signs used for Spider-Man 2 but, with that said, the production has also become known for changing their signage and titles in an attempt to throw off looky-lous.
Tonight, The Amazing Sider-Man 2 is expected to film at Gold Coast Studios and Grumann Studios, which are also located on Long Island, not too far from the Jones Beach site.
According to a recent casting call, they will be filming “exterior, overnight” scenes tonight and tomorrow night.

UPDATE: Found out the site at Jones Beach is like for The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as they are using the 4SQ production signs. (Thanks @crazeed469)
