Today Paramount announced it is partnering with the China Movie Channel and Jiaflix Enterprises in an agreement that will create a major presence for Transformers 4 in China.
Part of the agreement will allow the two Chinese companies to help director Michael Bay with the “selection of filming sites within China, theatrical promotion, and possible post-production activities in China as well as casting of Chinese actors and actresses in the film.”
Transformers 4 will also be filming in Chicago and Detroit.
The deal may be similar to the one Marvel entered into with DMG Entertainment which resulted in a special cut of Iron Man 3 made specifically for China.
