According to NewsOK.com, principal photography begins this month in Oklahoma City and Guthrie, OK for Rudderless, starring William H. Macy, Billy Crudup, Anton Yelchin, Laurence Fishburne and Felicity Huffman.
Rudderless stars Macy, who is also directing the movie, “as a grieving father who stumbles across a box of his deceased son’s original music and forms a band, hoping to find peace in the wake of his tragic loss.”
“We are proud of both the talent and the tenacity of Casey and Jeff,” said Jill Simpson, director of the Oklahoma Film & Music Office. “They’ve not only written a great script that has attracted A-list talent, including director William H. Macy, but they have worked hard to bring the film to life in Oklahoma where it is set. These elements make ‘Rudderless’ the perfect project for Oklahoma’s film rebate program.”
“This film was written in Oklahoma and set in Oklahoma, and we saw no reason to shoot it anywhere but Oklahoma,” Macy said. “And it was lucky for us that we did, because since we started our prep here, people have been more than accommodating. They’ve been downright generous.”

I will never watch anything associated with William H Macy. My GF auditioned as Angelina Cho the part as the reporter for this movie and got the part pending that she pay her own way (i.e. Pay for her own travel and logging for this shoot). what kind of production makes their own actor pay their own way? I guess they felt she didn’t deserved the same treatment due to any other actor playing in the film.
