As we’ve reported, Gosling will begin work on his directorial debut, How to Catch a Monster, next month in Detroit, MI.

After applying for a Michigan tax credit in February, the movie was officially approved for $1.75 million in incentives from the Michigan Film Office this week.

Written by Gosling, How to Catch a Monster will star Christina Hendricks, Eva Mendes, Saoirse Ronan, Matt Smith and Ben Mendelsohn.

According to Ryan Hill Casting, 300 extras will be needed for the movie. Once casting begins, the email address to apply will be HTCAMExtras@gmail.com. Stay tuned to Ryan Hill’s Facebook Page for updates.
