A Tearful ‘American Dreams’ Reunion at ATX TV Fest

There was a reason I didn’t put on eye makeup Sunday morning. Sure, laziness was part of it… but I also had a sneaking suspicion I’d end up sobbing during the American Dreams reunion. And boy, was I right.

Thankfully, I wasn’t the only one. Many on stage, including Vanessa Lengies (Roxanne Bojarski), were visibly wiping away tears after footage depicting the Philadelphia riots was shown. Most of the event was spent with cast and creators reminiscing and sharing stories. Lengies and Brittany Snow (Meg Pryor) were candid about how grateful they were for landing their roles and meeting each other.

It was all so sweet and emotional that it made the exclusive “epilogue” footage we were shown even more heart wrenching. The never before seen, but often talked about, clip shows Meg on her way to Woodstock from Berkeley were she eventually returns home. Seeing the passion of the people involved in the series, and the love they clearly have for both the show and each other, makes the fact that this under-seen gem lacks a season 2 and 3 DVD release.

This may change though. A Kickstarter to fund the acquisition of the music rights was mentioned, and creator Jonathan Prince urged the fans to let the powers that be know they want American Dreams!
