One of the highlight of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con is the appearance of the Veronica Mars cast, something that seemed like nothing more than a pipe dream a year ago.
During today’s panel in Hall H the cast gave fans a first look at the movie, which will hit theaters early next year, and talked about how filming has been going.
Here’s some of the best quotes from today’s VM panel:
“We want the movie to be the start of something, and we need to go big if that’s gonna happen,” Rob Thomas said of the new movie.
“A really good writer is allowed to be militant about his words. Rob is a really good writer, and he’s also a word Nazi,” Kristen Bell explained of the lack of improv in Veronica Mars.
A fan asked, “Who taught Jason how to smoulder?” “The heavens!” Bell replied.
“I got fresh snickerdoodles every day, and then I got sick,” Draggs said of is favorite episode, the snickerdoodle ep.
“Yes, my wife caught me crying at the Veronica/Logan kiss,” Thomas said of finally seeing Veronica and Logan’s first kiss.
Tina Majorino explained what it was like to be back on set saying, “Obviously everybody has been busy living their own lives since the movie, so to be able to come back, it’s like our characters are seeing each other for the first time, and we’re seeing each other for the first time. It doesn’t feel like work.”
When asked if they could play any other character in the series, who would they play? Chris Lowell shouted, “Logan! Logan! Logan!”
“This may be on my tombstone,” Thomas said. “I’m very, very proud of this show.”
Kristen Bell said when she filmed her first scene back with Jason Dohring, “We just kept staring at each other saying, ‘Are we really here right now? Are they really letting us do this?'”
“I know what the pleasure zones are for Veronica Mars viewers,” Thomas promised.
And the only spoiler about the plot of the movie? “This is a weird reference, but it has a Godfather 3 theme to it,” Thomas said.
