‘Chicago Fire’ bar filming moves to sound stage

As reported back in April, Chicago Fire has been shooting around the city of Chicago, including at Lottie’s Pub in Bucktown.

Unfortunately now, other than doing some exteriors, any filming for the bar, called Molly’s on the show, will be happening on a sound stage at Cinespace Chicago Film Studios.

Why? It seems that because of the importance of the location to the show’s story, as well as to its spin-off, Chicago PD, the crew was constantly having to set-up and tear down at Lottie’s, which was wearing on them. By recreating the bar’s interior on the sound stage they’ll have a standing set, and this will lessen the load on the crew.
