We recently reported that the Paramount Pictures and Selma Productions Inc. movie “Selma” would be shooting in Montgomery, Alabama now the production is looking for up to 500 extras to appear in the production. The movie is expected to shoot scenes in Selma on June 23 through June 26 as well as in Montgomery on June 27.
Filming will take place on the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma as well as on Dexter Avenue in Montgomery.
The casting call will be held June 9 at John Abernathy Auditorium.
Candidates must:
Be 17 to 70 years old
Bring valid photo ID
Bring recent photo
Be eligible to work in the U.S.
Be willing to working as a local hire at $64 for eight hours
Be African American or Caucasian
Be able to work 12 to 14 hours in vintage wardrobe
Be available and have means to attend wardrobe fitting in Selma on one of the following days: June 17 through June 20
The casting call will run from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m.
“Selma” stars David Oyelowo as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and focusses on the historic Selma-to-Montgomery march that eventually led President Lyndon Johnson to sign the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
