Ever since the news broke that Brad Pitt, Ryan Gosling, and Christian Bale will star together in the film adaptation of by Michael Lewis’ The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine, fans have been trying to track down exactly where it will be filmed, and we think we finally have our first clue!
Last week, New Orleans-based caterer Cristie Schoen tweeted that she had just lined up her next job, working on The Big Short. Though there is still no confirmation from Louisiana Entertainment or the New Orleans Film Office, it seems like a safe bet to assume the movie will be filmed in New Orleans this spring.
The Big Short, which Adam McKay is writing and directing, follows “the build-up of the housing and credit bubble during the 2000s that led to the financial crisis of 2007-2010.”
This will mark the fourth film Pitt has filmed in New Orleans, where he also has a home, in recent years. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Killing Them Softly, and 12 Years A Slave were all filmed in Louisiana, too.
The Big Short is expected to begin filming in late March.
