‘Vikings’ is looking for more than 8,000 extras in Ireland

As the History Channel’s hit series, Vikings, gears up to begin filming its fourth season, producers are looking for more than 8000 people to be extras on the show, which films in Ireland.

They’ve already scheduled several open casting calls, the first one taking place today in Dublin. Here are the details:

The first casting calls are taking place at Filmbase, Curved Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2 from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m, on Tuesday March 31 and from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday April 1.

An open casting day will also be held in the Grand Hotel, Wicklow town on Tuesday April 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

All casting calls are open to adults, over 16, of all ethnic backgrounds, who are full-time resident of Ireland. Males over six foot tall with long hair and beards are particularly sought after, as are women with naturally colored hair.

Potential extras will be asked to fill out an application form and will have a photograph before leaving.

Vikings season four will mostly take place in Dublin and Wicklow.
