Yesterday, James Schamus’ highly anticipated new film Indignation began filming in NYC on June 15.
Based on the novel of the same name by Philip Roth, Indignation is set in 1951 and follows Marcus, the 18-year-old son of a kosher butcher in Newark grappling with anti-Semitism, sexual repression and the escalating Korean War as he comes of age at a Midwestern Lutheran college. At the same time, the “sexually promiscuous, headstrong and fiercely independent” Olivia comes into his life.
Logan Lerman and Sarah Gadon star in the film which will be filming in and around NYC throughout the summer.
