Kerry Washington has started filming the HBO movie Confirmation in Atlanta.
Washington will play Anita Hill in the movie, who accused Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment in 1981. Much of the hearing, including Hill’s testimony, aired live on TV. The incident created a media frenzy and started a national conversation about workplace relationships but, ultimately, Congress confirmed Thomas as a Supreme Court judge.
Confirmation, which will chronicle the hearings, is set in Washington D.C. but is being shot entirely in Atlanta.
Wendell Pierce, Jennifer Hudson, Greg Kinnear, Eric Stonestreet, Erika Christensen, and Cobie Smulders also star.
Be on the lookout for Confirmation filming around one of the colleges in the Atlanta area today. According to a casting call, which you can check out below, the movie is filming exterior scenes featuring college students.
